Any Arizona resident who has suffered the loss of a loved one in an automobile accident may well think that if the vehicle driver had exercised caution, their relative or friend might be alive. A driver needs to be especially careful in order to prevent a fatal accident on Yuma, Arizona, roads as well as other highways around the country.

In a recent accident, a driver was possibly driving under the influence of drugs when he caused the death of a couple from San Luis. The fatal accident occurred at the junction of Avenue 7-e and U.S. 95 in Yuma. The victims were a man, in his 60s, and his wife. The driver was also injured in the T-bone accident and was transported to a local hospital. The 42-year-old driver was eventually released from the hospital and arrested. According to police reports, the Yuma resident might have been under the influence of drugs and was speeding when the collision occurred.

The personal cost from this type of accident is difficult to measure, but it is devastating. For example, in this case, the victims might have surviving family members who are now suffering a tremendous loss, not to mention the potential financial impact on the family as a result of the accident.

The victim’s family may wish to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver and claim compensation to help cover the financial loss. Of course, compensation cannot replace the loved one; however, it can help to ease the financial burden that the fatal accident might have caused to everyone involved.
